Mine is a story of an ordinary life blessed by extraordinary people in an exceptional country. I grew up in a 3-room HDB flat and went to school here before studying law at National University of Singapore and Columbia University in New York.
I work as a corporate lawyer at Joseph Tan Jude Benny LLP (JTJB),  and have been active in grassroots work since 2004, starting in Chong Pang, Marsiling in 2013 and most recently in Woodlands in 2014.
Over the years, I have been active in  education and social causes, including the boards of Nanyang Polytechnic, National Council of Problem Gambling, feedback unit REACH as well as Prophet Muhammad's Birthday Memorial Scholarship Fund Board (LBKM), and Association of Muslim Professional ‘Ready for School’ Programme for underprivileged children.

Singapore has given me many opportunities. There are very few places in this world where a minority from an ordinary background can have so many good opportunities. Having received so much from Singapore,  it's time I give back.
