Introduction
Alvin Tan serves as Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Culture, Community and Youth, and Board Member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
At the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), he works with businesses to drive the growth of Singapore’s startup ecosystem, shape the future of manufacturing and green tech, and expand Singapore’s global trade, business and tourism appeal.
At the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY), he refreshed the Harmony Circles, launched the national MentoringSG program to empower youth, set up the SG Mental Well-Being Network and supports our arts, heritage and sports sectors.
At the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), he focuses on developing on our financial sector, particularly in fintech, green finance, and financial sector talent. He also served on the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Anti Money Laundering.
As Member of Parliament for Moulmein-Cairnhill, he has enhanced local estates and accessibility, and initiated grassroots projects focused on sustainability, racial harmony, and mental well-being. Alvin also oversees and advocates for the sustainability efforts in the Tanjong Pagar Town Council.
He is married and a father of two young children.
