Introduction
Sun Xueling serves as Minister of State at the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Social and Family Development. Supporting families and nurturing children are at the heart of what she does.
Since her election to Parliament in 2015, Xueling has led policies to increase access to preschool education by increasing preschool places and continuously reducing preschool fees. She has also championed increased benefits to parents by enhancing parenthood benefits and parental leave entitlements.
A fierce protector of the vulnerable, Xueling also chairs inter-ministry efforts to combat family violence and fight the scourge of scams and cyber crime.
In Punggol West, a single-member constituency, she collaborates with community partners to ease cost of living concerns for residents through offering half-priced grocery shopping programmes and education bursaries for children in middle-income and sandwiched families.
