Coming soon: More high-rise kampungs
PUBLISHED ON 08 Aug 2018
Considering the shifting dynamics of the Singapore society, the Government has been reviewing policies including housing, to improve lives, strengthen social safety nets and to build a more cohesive nation, says Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
Showcasing the new integrated housing estate, Mr Lee who delivered his National Day Message at Kampung Admiralty also shared the features available there, which will be the new model for public housing.
Here are the amenities available under one roof, at the newest 'high-rise kampungs'.
  • Education facilities including preschool and childcare services for the convenience of our young families
  • Quality healthcare services closer to the heartlands, made affordable with social safety nets such as the Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS), and MediShield Life
  • Sheltered community plaza for children to play away from the elements. It also works as an area for seniors to socialise
  • Community gardens, for all to enjoy
  • Conveniences such as supermarkets and also hawker centres!
With this new model of public residences, Singaporeans can look forward to not only owning homes in comfortable neighbourhoods, but also enjoy the conveniences of inter-generational facilities for the entire family!
