The People’s Action Party has announced the following candidate representing the PAP to stand for election at Radin Mas Single Member Constituency (SMC):

Melvin Yong was introduced today at Tanjong Pagar Plaza, where he shared his motivations to step forward and sought the mandate to represent Radin Mas residents.

Mr Melvin Yong is Assistant Secretary-General of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC). He is concurrently Director of the NTUC’s Care Division, and Executive Secretary of the Built Environment and Urban Trades Employees’ Union (BATU).
Mr Yong is also an Adviser to the National Transport Workers’ Union (NTWU), the United Workers of Electronics & Electrical Industries (UWEEI) and the Housing & Development Board Staff Union (HDBSU).
As a passionate advocate for workplace safety and health, Mr Yong sits on the national Workplace Safety and Health Council and the Multi-Agency Workplace Safety and Health Taskforce.
Mr Yong is President of the Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) and a Board Director of the Financial Industry Disputes Resolution Centre (FIDReC).
As Chairman of the Tanjong Pagar Town Council from 2015-2025, Mr Yong has a decade of town management experience.
In his Radin Mas constituency, Mr Yong believes in rallying people together to build a caring community, fostering an environment where those who have more come forth to help those who have less.
