The People’s Action Party has announced the following team representing the PAP to stand for election at Marsiling-Yew Tee Group Representation Constituency (GRC):
- Alex Yam Ziming
- Hany Soh Hui Bin
- Lawrence Wong
- Zaqy Mohamad
The team was introduced today at the PAP Limbang Branch, where they shared their motivations to step forward and sought the mandate to represent Marsiling-Yew Tee residents.
About the team
Alex Yam Ziming 任梓銘
First elected in 2011, Alex Yam is Mayor of North West District, Member of Parliament for Yew Tee Division, Chairman of the Town Council, and Assistant Organising Secretary of the People’s Action Party. He champions support for vulnerable families, promotes healthier lifestyles, and advances environmental stewardship, while spearheading skills-upgrading initiatives.
In Yew Tee, he has lobbied for infrastructure including a new bus service, facilities along the Lifestyle Corridor, and upcoming projects such as a hawker centre, polyclinic, community club, and additional MRT stations. He envisions hope for a brighter future, a community with a heart for the vulnerable, and a welcoming home where everyone can thrive.
Hany Soh Hui Bin 苏慧敏
Driven by her principle of serving “the last, the lost, and the least,” Hany Soh entered politics in 2020 as Member of Parliament for the Woodgrove division of Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC. As Vice-Chairperson of the Town Council, she enhances estate management and upkeep. In Parliament, she advocates for cost-of-living solutions, sustainable living, digital inclusion, women’s empowerment, and family support, spearheading community initiatives in these aspects.
Hany is also a qualified family lawyer, employing therapeutic justice in legal disputes. Her dedication stems from her grassroots experience and desire to build an inclusive community.
A mother of two young children, she strives to create a Singapore they can proudly call home, blending empathetic leadership with actionable policies to uplift residents holistically.
Lawrence Wong 黄循财
Lawrence Wong is the Prime Minister and Minister for Finance. He is also the Secretary-General of the People’s Action Party.
He was first elected into Parliament in 2011, and has been the Member of Parliament for the Limbang division of Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC since 2015.
He has helped to enhance the Limbang estate with better amenities for families and seniors, and upgraded community spaces for residents.
He played a key role in Singapore’s response to the Covid pandemic. He also spearheaded Forward Singapore – a nationwide initiative to renew our social compact and to ensure that we continue to progress together as one people.
Zaqy Mohamad 扎吉哈
Zaqy Mohamad is dedicated to transforming the Marsiling constituency with the Marsiling Cares and ComLink initiatives, specifically designed to uplift vulnerable families and children. These programmes are part of the broader Marsiling 2025 and 2030 masterplans, to modernise the estate and support the Marsiling community.
In the Ministry of Manpower, Zaqy championed Progressive Wages, improved workplace safety, and contributed to the Workplace Fairness legislation. His contributions in MINDEF emphasise defence, diplomacy, and humanitarian aid, particularly for Gaza.
As Deputy Chairman of MENDAKI, Zaqy also advances educational and social mobility for the Malay/Muslim community. Prior to joining Government, Zaqy spent 18 years in the private sector in consulting and technology.
