
The People’s Action Party has announced the following team representing the PAP to stand for election at West Coast-Jurong West Group Representation Constituency (GRC):

The team and candidate were introduced today at the PAP West Coast branch office, where they shared their motivations to step forward and sought the mandate to represent West Coast-Jurong West residents.
About the team
Ang Wei Neng 洪维能 , 58
As MP of Nanyang, Ang Wei Neng is dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable families and people with disabilities. He ensures that lower income families are not disadvantaged through implementing assistance programmes such as Nanyang Sayang, a free tuition and mentorship programme for children, and Food Locker, an initiative that gives out food hampers to the needy.
He is committed to building a greener Singapore and fostering an inclusive society for people with physical or intellectual disabilities.
Wei Neng is married with four children. He enjoys walking his dog, and cycling and hiking with his family.
Cassandra Lee 吕思憓 , 33
Cassandra is a long-time community volunteer, lawyer and mother to a toddler. She believes in empowering young parents to balance their caregiving responsibilities with their career aspirations, and is dedicated to serving the needs of the elderly to allow them to age-in-place.
As a volunteer, Cassandra led various initiatives in support of the causes she believes in. Cassandra led efforts across the Jurong divisions to support young parents in balancing their careers with caregiving needs such as raising awareness on the new Family Justice Rules and Tripartite Guidelines on Flexible Work Arrangement Requests, and promoting flexible, part-time and micro-job employment options to those who are contemplating or have taken career breaks. A strong advocate for the elderly, Cassandra led efforts to improve barrier free accessibility to enable seniors to age-in-place and continue participating in the local community in their old age.
Cassandra is currently an Assistant Director, Singapore Technology Legal Counsel, at EY Singapore, where she leads the technology and artificial intelligence practice for the Singapore general counsel’s office and the ASEAN excellence centre. Cassandra led the successful transformation of technology contracting practices in Singapore to improve service delivery, and continues to streamline processes for increased efficiency and scalability. Prior to joining EY, Cassandra was in the Singapore Legal Service where she served as State Counsel and Deputy Public Prosecutor in the Civil Division of the Attorney General’s Chambers. Cassandra started her career in Enterprise Singapore, where she was part of Singapore’s negotiation team for multilateral and bilateral free trade agreements and represented Singapore at ASEAN and APEC.
In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and son.
Desmond Lee 李智陞 , 48
Desmond Lee is Minister for National Development, and Minister-in-Charge of Social Services Integration. At MND, he oversees public housing policies, Singapore’s city planning, the built environment sector, and conservation of nature and heritage buildings, and. At MSF, Desmond focuses on delivering more coordinated access to social services for individuals and families. He introduced ComLink+ to support families with children living in rental flats. He also works with partners to address community issues, such as the New Environment Action Team (NEAT) to tackle hoarding inside homes, and the Partners Engaging and Empowering Rough Sleepers (PEERS) Network.
As MP for Boon Lay and West Coast, Desmond has focused on strengthening collaboration between community volunteers, government agencies and partners in order to roll out local social programmes. For example, he launched the Gift-A-Family programme to mobilise stronger community support for ComLink+ families, and is coordinating across groups to promote health screening, medical follow-up and social activities for seniors under AgeWellSG. He has rolled out initiatives to address everyday necessities, such as Project 100=50 to provide half-priced grocery shopping, Safe Sound Sleeping Places (S3Ps) in West Coast and Boon Lay to provide temporary shelter to the homeless and rough sleepers, care bag distribution sessions, and free haircutting and mobile TCM services. In addition, he has worked on improving the living environment for residents, with infrastructure upgrades such as sheltered linkways, cycling path, senior-friendly features and green initiatives with the Nature Kakis.
Desmond is married with three children.
Hamid Razak 贺明 ஹமீது , 39
Hamid Razak is a dedicated medical professional, community leader, and advocate for social equity. Raised with values of resilience, empathy, and responsibility in a modest household, these principles have shaped his journey as an orthopaedic surgeon and public servant.
As a resident of Jurong for nearly 30 years, Hamid Razak has witnessed the power of a united community and has dedicated himself to giving back to the place he calls home. Through Meet-the-People sessions, he initiated the “Chit Chat with Dr PAP” booths, offering free health screenings and essential advice to residents. He is also proud to have championed the Happy Kids Programme, a literacy initiative aimed at helping children from disadvantaged backgrounds start on equal footing. Hamid believes in a community where people of all backgrounds support each other, creating a Jurong and a Singapore where everyone feels valued.
Beyond his local efforts, Hamid is a founding member and past Deputy President of IMPROF, where he led a youth mentorship program that paired underprivileged individuals with leaders in their fields. A strong advocate for health literacy, he has empowered individuals to take charge of their well-being by initiating health education platforms in the community and continuing this work as an Orthopaedic Surgeon and the Vice President of the Singapore Knee Preservation Society.
Hamid’s commitment to inclusivity extends to supporting Singapore’s migrant worker community through the Wandering Dervishes initiative. Guided by his volunteering mantra, “give whatever we have from wherever we are,” Hamid believes in creating a fairer, more inclusive society where everyone can thrive.
As Branch Chair, Hamid is committed to championing equitable healthcare, advancing health literacy, and empowering youth development. His mission is clear: to create a Jurong and a Singapore where every voice is heard, and every dream nurtured.
Shawn Huang 黄伟中, 42
Seeing immense potential in everyone and being inspired by the energy of our youths, Shawn Huang is committed to support the younger generation to develop themselves, so they can make an impact on the world and build a better Singapore. Other groups Shawn advocates for include disadvantaged families and ex-inmates. He strives to give them opportunities to progress and do well in life, believing that they will in turn pay it forward.
Shawn finds the greatest pride and satisfaction knowing that he has effected positive changes to his constituents’ lives in Jurong Spring.
