Flats at MacPherson Lane selected for SERS
PUBLISHED ON 01 Jun 2018
Three blocks in MacPherson Lane have been selected for the Selective En bloc Redevelopment Scheme (SERS), the first since 2016.

HDB explained that these flats are about 50 years old and will also involve 27 shops and two eating houses in that area. This will be the 81st site under the SERS scheme to be redeveloped. Residents are assured of allocations at a replacement site, and will be offered new two-room Flexi flats to five-room units in Circuit Road with a new 99-year lease.

In a blog post in March, Minister Lawrence Wong had said that SERS, which was introduced in 1995, is selective, and will be offered to HDB blocks that are in sites with high development potential. “These are typically sites where the land has not been well utilised. It is also subject to the availability of suitable replacement sites for residents and the Government’s financial resources,” he added.
