GST U-Save Vouchers and HIP for Singaporean households
PUBLISHED ON 05 Jan 2018
At least 880,000 Singaporean households will receive up to $95 of GST U-Save vouchers this month, depending on their HDB housing type.

This rebate helps offset part of the utilities bill and is distributed every quarter. This scheme is expected to cost a total of $265 million over four quarters, until April 2018.

The Government also announced that a total of $1.93 billion was spent on improving older flats under the Home Improvement Programme (HIP) since 2007. HIP focuses on improvements within flats and common maintenance issues related to older flats.

In addition, $40 million was spent on the Enhancement for Active Seniors (EASE), which furnishes flats with elderly-friendly fittings.

A total of 113 projects have completed upgrading works, and another 139 projects are in various stages of progress.  HDB stated that the remaining eligible flats will be selected by the end of the year.
