Important for Singapore to stay resilient: DPM Teo Chee Hean
PUBLISHED ON 20 Jul 2018
Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean emphasised that it is vital for Singapore to recognise the significance of being self-reliant, in order to build a strong and resilient country.

Making these comments at the 14th Punggol North Racial and Religious Harmony Street Parade on 15 July 2018, DPM Teo assured Singaporeans that the nation’s water supply will remain safe and secure. DPM Teo said Singapore has invested in preparations for its water supply. He added: “Singaporeans will never be short of water, will always have water and will never be threatened by anybody who wants to cut our water supply off.”

He also reiterated the importance of government schemes such as MediShield Life, CPF Life and the recently announced CareShield Life, as these schemes "protect the strength of our country and not pass the burden onto our children".
