The People’s Action Party has announced the following candidate representing the PAP to stand for election at Jurong Central Single Member Constituency (SMC):
- Xie Yao Quan
Xie Yao Quan was introduced today at the Jurong-Clementi Town Council, where he shared his motivations to step forward and sought the mandate to represent Jurong Central residents.
About Xie Yao Quan
Xie Yao Quan 谢曜全
Xie Yao Quan has represented Jurong Central ward since 2020. He has also served as Chairman of Jurong-Clementi Town Council in the last five years. Yao Quan’s approach is to walk the ground, listen deeply to his residents and put his heart into all that he does to serve residents. He has focused on infrastructure upgrades that make a real difference in residents’ daily lives. He has also rolled out social support programmes that focus on helping residents to cope with cost of living, seniors to age well in the community, and parents to raise their children, especially in large families.
Yao Quan is passionate about contributing to various causes and communities. He is serving on the Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning (CPCLL), Chinese Community Liaison Group, PA Youth Movement and the Union of Security Employees. He was a board member of SG Enable. He is also currently the CEO of Quantedge Foundation, which focuses on improving social mobility in Singapore.
