Comrade Janil Puthucheary will be appointed as Party Whip with effect from 6 June 2019. He takes over from Comrade Chan Chun Sing who has served as Party Whip since 28 September 2015. Comrade Janil is also the Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Communications and Information, and Member of Parliament for Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC.
Comrade Janil will be assisted by two Deputy Party Whips:
- Comrade Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Communications and Information and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, and MP for Holland-Bukit Timah GRC; and
- Comrade Zaqy Mohamad, Minister of State for Ministry of National Development and Ministry of Manpower, and MP for Chua Chu Kang GRC. Comrade Zaqy takes over from Comrade Sam Tan who has also served as Deputy Party Whip since 28 September 2015.
