Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim to chair the Government Parliamentary Committee for Home Affairs and Law

The People’s Action Party has appointed Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim, Member of Parliament (MP) for Chua Chu Kang GRC (Keat Hong) as Chairperson of the Government Parliamentary Committee (GPC) for Home Affairs and Law, with effect from today, 1 July 2024.

Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim has served as Deputy Chairperson of the GPC for Home Affairs and Law since 2020. He replaces Murali Pillai, MP for Bukit Batok SMC, who was appointed and sworn-in as the Minister of State for Law and Transport on the same day.

Set up by the PAP in 1987, GPCs give their members the opportunity to scrutinise the legislation and programmes of the various ministries and serve as an additional feedback channel on government policies.

The GPC for Home Affairs and Law comprise the following MPs:
