 Introduction

Ng Ling Ling believes that a strong community can help people in need bounce back.

In Ling Ling’s growing years, she witnessed adults in her neighbourhood encountering unexpected adversities and lives of childhood friends affected by family tragedies. These early experiences formed a conviction in her to contribute to community building, look out for the well-being of others and empower them to find hope and lead fulfilling lives.  It also motivated her to take a step of faith from a finance sector career to enter public service in 2001. For the next 16 years, she worked in the social service sector under National Council of Social Service and Community Chest.

Prior her entry into politics, Ling Ling was the Chief of Future Primary Care in MOH Office for Healthcare Transformation until April 2020. To ensure our primary healthcare can continue to serve Singaporeans well, she continued as an independent senior consultant to see through key primary care transformation pilots.  She brings these experiences to Parliament where she often advocates for seniors, healthcare and healthcare affordability.

In Jalan Kayu, she is committed to walk alongside her residents, advocating intergenerational community bonding, healthy living and sustainability initiatives.  She aspires for her residents to lead happy and fulfilling lives in a green and uplifting neighbourhood.  She looks after her residents’ basic needs and challenges of today, while spurring them towards long-term health and collective efforts for a cohesive Jalan Kayu community together.
