"Covid-19 has hit us hard. My team will help soften the impact by seeking out the vulnerable families, linking them with government assistance schemes and providing additional help through our local welfare programs."

 Introduction

Having lived some years in a rental flat in the Dover area, Ang Wei Neng is dedicated to improving the lives of the most vulnerable families, including people with disabilities, since he became a Member of Parliament in 2001.

Most recently after being elected as a MP in Nanyang (West Coast GRC), Wei Neng actively sought to ensure that lower income families are not disadvantaged. In less than two years, he set up a free Traditional Chinese Medicine clinic for Nanyang residents and a Nanyang Sayang program, a free tuition and mentorship programme for children from lower income families in Nanyang. With the Food Locker Program, residents in the most vulnerable group get to collect food hampers of their choice twice a month at Nanyang Community Club.

In building a greener Singapore, Wei Neng is committed to carrying out various green initiatives such as creating green plots and planting 1000 trees in the Nanyang community.

Wei Neng is especially dedicated to building a more inclusive society for people with disabilities, having personally experienced caring for his son with special needs.  He was actively involved in formulating the Enabling Master Plan II & III which help people with disabilities to receive education and employment. He is also a current member of the Management Committee of Grace Orchard School, which educates students with mild intellectual disabilities.

Wei Neng’s family is his solid foundation. He is a father of four children, and in his spare time, enjoys walking his dog and cycling and hiking with his family.
