Yeo Wan Ling – Women Supporting Women Mentorship Programme

I believe in empowering women with the ability to take charge of their career health. The Women Supporting Women Mentorship Programme was piloted by NTUC U Women and Family (WAF) in December 2020. It is a community mentorship programme where WAF works with communities to offer women opportunities to be mentored by women leaders.

Women leaders with professional experiences across different industries from NTUC and Women's Wing contribute as mentors. This programme will allow the mentees to focus on their professional development and personal growth over a 6-month period.

Punggol Shore Women's Wing organised a talk on "How to Speak in a Memorable Manner", as part of the Women Supporting Women Mentorship Programme, to empower women in the workplace. The speaker gave handy tips on how to make a good impression in a short time, equipping the ladies to use storytelling to impress. I shared words of care and encouragement for the mentees to have courage to pursue their dreams. Mentors and mentees took the opportunity to catch up and share about their lives during the gathering, building each other up and supporting one another to realise their aspirations.

WAF will also tap into NTUC's network such as NTUC's LHUB and e2i, to train mentors and mentees. These connections enable us to provide placement opportunities and to share more about the resources available within the NTUC network.

In PAP Women's Wing, we play our part in creating a society of opportunities. Invest in your personal growth or step forward as a mentor to inspire others!
