For the People’s Action Party to remain strong and to continue to serve the people of Singapore, Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong has listed four attributes that its activists should possess. They should be committed and motivated individuals with integrity and capabilities meet the needs of the population.

Mr Goh made these remarks at Party, Together- the PAP’s annual social event, where more than 600 branch activists attended. This year’s reception at the Gardens by the Bay was preceded by an Amazing Style-race in the Civic District to mark Singapore’s Bicentennial.

More than 200 PAP branch activists braved the blazing hot afternoon sun to trek across several iconic landmarks as part of Party, Together, first introduced in 2016.

This year’s event was to acquaint the activists with these landmarks, which included Merlion Park, Elgin Bridge, Old Parliament House, Old Hill Street Police Station, Raffles Landing Point, that have stood silent witness to Singapore’s progress from a colony to an independent nation; from a third world country to a first world nation.

Organising Chairman of Party, Together and Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Home Affairs, Mr Amrin Amin emphasised the importance of knowing our history, so that we can build upon the success, and learn important lessons to take Singapore further into the future.
