Josephine Teo – Paint It Forward

We need to support women as champions and stewards of our shared resources for sustainable growth. Paint it Forward is one such initiative spearheaded by my female volunteers at Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng.

This initiative provides children from underprivileged families with opportunities to participate in interesting art and craft workshops. It also allows parents to bond with their children while joining in the fun. The experience of creating something new together strengthens family bonds and helps children develop creativity and confidence.

More than 40 children from underprivileged families were invited to the first DIY Fluid Bearbrick workshop. The children had so much fun creating their very own Bearbrick keychain and model. Me and my team of volunteers also joined the children in designing and painting the larger Bearbricks. We have larger Bearbricks available for adoption, and the generous donations will be donated to Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng's CatchPlus programme to support more underprivileged children in their academic and personal development.

In PAP Women's Wing, we will continue to provide opportunities for our children to grow and realise their aspirations. The Paint It Forward initiative will enable more children with equitable access to creative arts and the CatchPlus funds will help to support their development.
